Alps of Waipio
The verdant, tropical Waipio Valley is one of the most stunning locations on the Big Island. There is a lovely viewpoint, or if you're feeling very daring, you may descend into the valley by doing the SUPER STEEP descent. There is hardly much to see at the bottom unless you are on a guided tour (mainly private land). I definitely recommend this trip, which combines Waipio Valley with some of the island's best waterfalls.
