Texas's lengthy, sweltering summers begin early and linger far into the months when the leaves are changing color in other places. As a result, Texans will get to enjoy summer for a longer period of time than the rest of the nation. One of the finest ways to cool down in the summer is to take a dip in one of the state's natural springs in Texas.
The spring-fed swimming holes in Texas are among of the most breathtaking sites in the world to cool down because of their crystal blue water. So you can find a great swimming spot close by whether you're in hectic Austin or Agen Slot Gator. Go to one of these 11 Texas natural springs for a splash of pure magic.
Springs Barton

The clear waters of Barton Springs, which resemble a pool, are supplied by the Edwards Aquifer. The consequence is that the spring's water is always a comfortable 70 degrees. Enjoy them from the lovely grassy slopes that are sheltered by trees or the rocky outcroppings next to the pool's southern edge, where you could see uncommon salamanders.

The Jacob's Well

by Larry D. Moore, retrieved from wikipedia
The spookiest swimming hole in Texas is probably Jacob's Well, a spring-fed pool with a circular, black hole that leads to the state's longest underwater cave system. The well looks to be a portal to another universe since it is just 12 feet broad yet extends 23 feet deep (before curving downward and deepening considerably farther). It is only used by daredevils who leap from the cliffs above into the deep ocean.

Pool at Hancock Springs
pool at Hancock Springs
Hancock Springs Pool, the oldest spring-fed pool in Texas, hasn't seen as many swimmers as some other natural springs in the state. Hancock is one of the few swimming areas in Texas that receives water from an artesian spring that is chilly (70 degrees), along with Barton Springs and Balmorhea. Nothing is more comfortable when it's still September and the temperature is getting close to 100 degrees.
